To London at Last

You would think that you could fit everything you own in two fifty pound bags, NOT! Surprisingly, we had to do carry-ons as well to fit everything we planned on bringing.

The flight was delayed for two hours but since our layover in Salt Lake was three, it just meant no layover. Everything went without a hitch. We left our home at 10 am on Tuesday and arrived in London the next day at 2 pm with no sleep to speak of. The before and after pictures tell the story of how we felt at our arrival.

But we got there!!!

And did we go straight to bed? No! We went straight to Zone Conference with Elder Cook of the seventy. I hope we acted appropriately because neither Greg nor I have much of a memory of our Zombie-like day. But we did meet the other missionaries serving in our new area of Crawley.

These three lovely sisters live just a few floors below us in the same apartment complex. We had them to dinner the other night and they are simply a blessing! But I'm getting ahead of myself...

Hyde Park Chapel is in the heart of downtown London. We spent two days in London at a little flat about a half a mile away. We passed the embassy and Queen's college, ate at little cafes, and listened to wonderful training sessions.

We learned that there are about twelve to fourteen senior missionary couples who get together twice a month as a mission. Once for FHE and another to go on an excursion around the country. We are really looking forward to joining these faithful people.

We also found out that we get to serve the YSA in the Crawley Stake AND we get to do the inspections for the nine missionary companionships in that area. Hopefully, we'll be able to help the elders and sisters take good care of their responsibilities, and not be looked at as "the bad guys."

We still know next to nothing about what the future holds, but we've got a fuzzy idea of it, which is nice.
